Updated 2026-10-01. This page is the policy for Men’s Success Journal.
Who we are
Men’s Success Journal is made by Scrolling Is Evil LLC. Questions: support@scrollingisevil.com.
What the phone stores
Journal entries, drafts, prompts, goals, morning goals and evening reviews, reminder settings, optional profile answers, and any backup files you keep in the app stay in local storage on your phone. There is no account sign-in.
Optional profile answers (the areas you want to work on, school or work, relationship status and what prompts call a partner, kids or expecting) stay on this phone and only choose which prompts show up. They are not in backups or exports. A saved entry keeps the question it answered.
What leaves the phone
Journal writing does not leave the device for a Scrolling Is Evil server. There is no cloud sync and no analytics SDK in this version.
Daily reminders and the morning goals and evening review prompts are scheduled with the operating system’s local notifications.
If you export, share, or restore a backup, you choose the destination through the system share sheet or file picker. We do not receive that file unless you email it to support.
If you pick a file while restoring a backup, it stays on this phone.
Journal lock
The lock is optional. The code you set is stored only as a salted hash in the phone’s secure storage (Keychain on iPhone, Keystore on Android). If you turn on Face ID or fingerprint, the operating system checks it and tells the app only whether it matched. Nothing about the lock is sent to us.
Purchases
The optional one-time Supporter unlock is charged by Apple or Google. Our purchase service, RevenueCat, receives the purchase history needed to confirm and restore that unlock, together with an anonymous app user ID that RevenueCat creates on this phone. That ID is a random purchase identifier used only for purchases and Restore purchases. It is not your name, email or store account, and we do not link it to your identity. We also use RevenueCat's dashboard to see purchase totals, such as how many Supporter unlocks were bought and refunded. Journal text, goals and reviews are not sent to RevenueCat.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data. We do not use journal content for ads. There is no advertising identifier in this version.
Kids
Men’s Success Journal is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think we have, email us and we will delete what we hold.
Deleting your data
Your journal, goals and reviews live only on your phone. Use Settings to delete all journal data, or delete the app, which removes it from the phone. Keep a backup file first (Settings) if you want a copy.
RevenueCat holds a record of a Supporter purchase under a random purchase ID. To have that record deleted, email support@scrollingisevil.com. We handle deletion requests within 30 days. The purchase itself stays on your App Store or Google Play account.
