Summary
Low Back Pain Coach is a paid app with a 7-day free trial. Core use does not require an account. Workout logs, pain logs, and program state stay on your device unless you choose to sign in. If you create an optional account, we process and store your pain logs, workouts, and program state on our servers to provide sync. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to validate entitlements. Optional local reminders are scheduled on your device. A doctor-ready PDF of training and pain history can be generated from data you have logged. If you email support, we receive whatever you send.
Information the app stores on your device
The app uses on-device storage to run features, including:
- Pain tracking: dates, self-reported pain levels (for example on a 1–10 scale), and optional text notes you enter.
- Workouts: dates, progression stage, and per-set details you log (such as reps, hold duration, optional weight, and range of motion where applicable).
- Program state: baseline values, progression stage (starting with Floor Foundations; later stages may use a 45-degree back-extension bench), onboarding and guide flags, flare-up mode state, achievements, and similar app state.
- Preferences: appearance (such as theme), display preferences (such as weight units), reminder settings, and cached entitlement status after verification.
- Reminders (optional): whether reminders are enabled and what times you chose. Schedules use local notifications on supported platforms.
- Voice sessions: settings related to guided voice sessions. Session audio and prompts are used to run the feature on your device.
Uninstalling the app or using in-app reset (where available) may delete some or all of this on-device data, according to your device and the app’s behavior. Store purchase records remain tied to your Apple ID or Google account; see Purchases below.
Optional account and server sync
You do not need an account to use the core app. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we create an optional account so you can use another device.
If you create an optional account, we process and store your pain logs, workouts, and program state on our servers to provide sync. That processing happens on our backend at api.lowbackpaincoach.com (a Cloudflare Worker with Cloudflare D1 storage). Signed-in users may also use the web app at app.lowbackpaincoach.com.
Without an account, that data stays on the device. We do not upload pain logs, workouts, or program state for signed-out use.
Account identifiers we may process include your Apple or Google sign-in token or subject identifier, an internal account ID, and (if the identity provider supplies it and you allow it) an email address. We use this information to authenticate you, attach synced data to your account, restore entitlements, and respond to support or deletion requests.
Information we or our processors may process
Purchases and entitlements (Apple, Google, RevenueCat)
Access after the 7-day free trial is sold as a subscription or a lifetime purchase, as shown in the app and store listing at the time you buy. Current U.S. list prices are $9.99 per month, $59.99 per year, and $149.99 lifetime. Taxes, currency, and the price shown at checkout are controlled by Apple or Google.
When you start a trial, buy, or restore:
- Apple or Google processes payment and provides purchase receipts according to their policies.
- We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, manage entitlements, and help with restore purchases. RevenueCat may process technical identifiers (such as an app user ID), purchase transaction information, device and app metadata needed for fraud prevention and support, and related data as described in RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
We do not need your pain or workout history to process a purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your store account.
Doctor-ready PDF report
You can generate a PDF report of training and pain history from data already on the device or, if you are signed in, from synced account data. If you share that file (for example through the system share sheet, email, or a clinic portal), where it goes is your choice. We do not receive the PDF unless you send it to us.
Support
If you email us at support@scrollingisevil.com, we receive whatever you choose to include, which may include health-related information if you put it in the message. We use support correspondence to respond and to improve the product, subject to applicable law.
Processors
We use the following processors to operate the app, process payments, and (if you sign in) provide account sync:
- Apple — App Store billing, Sign in with Apple, and related platform services.
- Google — Google Play billing, Google sign-in, and related platform services.
- RevenueCat — purchase validation, entitlements, and restore.
- Cloudflare — hosting and storage for our API and, when you use an account, synced pain logs, workouts, and program state (Worker + D1 at api.lowbackpaincoach.com), and the web app at app.lowbackpaincoach.com.
Each processor handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information.
What we do not do (as shipped)
Unless we disclose otherwise in an updated policy or in-app notice:
- We do not require an account for core use.
- The app is not intended to include third-party advertising or behavioral ad tracking as shipped.
- We do not use your pain logs or workouts for advertising.
Local notifications
If you enable reminders, the operating system may show notifications at the times you set. Notification content is generated on-device for scheduling. You can turn reminders off in the app or in system settings.
Permissions
Depending on platform and your choices, the app may request permissions such as internet access (for purchases, entitlement checks, sign-in, and optional sync), billing (Google Play), or notification permissions. We request only what is needed for the described features.
Health-related information
Pain levels, workout logs, and program state may be sensitive or health-related. Treat them accordingly. If you stay signed out, they remain on the device. If you create an optional account, we process and store that information on our servers to provide sync, as described above.
The app is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. It does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. See the Terms of Service and in-app disclaimers.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us through an account, support, or another channel, contact us and we will take appropriate steps, including deleting server copies where we control them.
Your choices, deletion, and rights
You can:
- Use the app without creating an account, in which case pain logs, workouts, and program state stay on the device.
- Reset on-device data with in-app reset where available, or by uninstalling the app.
- If you are signed in, request deletion of server copies by emailing support@scrollingisevil.com, or use in-app account deletion if present. The web app at app.lowbackpaincoach.com provides account deletion.
- Cancel a subscription in your Apple or Google account settings. Deleting the app or your account does not automatically cancel a store subscription.
- Restore purchases on devices signed in with the same store account.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise rights or ask questions about data we hold from an account, support email, or RevenueCat/store processing, contact support@scrollingisevil.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.
Purchase history is also held by Apple or Google. Use their account tools for store records.
International users
If you use the app from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our processors operate, which may have different data-protection rules than your country.
Security
We rely on platform security, Cloudflare infrastructure, and reputable payment and entitlement providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Use the app, optional account sync, and any shared PDF reports with that in mind.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version at the same URL (or a successor URL we link from the store listing) and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy, to the extent permitted by law.
